PEACHTOBER 2022 - #25 Robot

Out of all of the pieces I’ve made for Peachtober so far, I’d say this is the one that’s most out of my comfort zone.

More often than not, I veer away from characters. Not necessarily because I don’t like the idea of them, but because I find them so excruciatingly difficult to translate from my head onto the page. This has been the case since as far back as I can remember; always better at observational work or working from a guide of sorts.

That being said, I’m really pleased with how this little one turned out. Which I think is down to the freedom that comes from digital illustration - to tweak and tweak and tweak, without destroying a page with an eraser or phantom lines.

It really came to life when I added textures and leaned into creating another digital-paper-art-style piece.
