Peachtober 2022 - #29 Whale
PEACHTOBER 2022 - #29 Whale
First off, yes! Blue! What?! Whilst cool tones don’t usually find themselves in my preferred colour palette, you may have noticed that I’ve dipped my toe into colours outside of pink, brown, yellow, orange and off-white here and there, during this challenge - and it’s been a refreshing change.
I must admit that whilst I’m not planning on changing my palette entirely, it would have felt wrong to use anything but blue and turquoise for this piece. And, what I especially liked, is that the majority of colours on this piece were actually achieved by using my usual colour palette and using the “Difference” setting for specific layers; tying everything together.
This is one of my favourite pieces I’ve made throughout this project. I’m SO pleased with how it came together - particularly the ‘W’ for the tail, and that it still resembles a whale (haha!) - which is always the thing when recreating shapes with letters… It can go either way!
There’s not long left of this project now, and I’m excited to get things squared away, so I can look to getting some of my favourite bits printed - and figure out how to put a zine together…
