Somewhere I Know

Somewhere I Know

Dragged down

                        down

                                 down

To somewhere I know,
But begged to never see again.

A thread of skin catches on the past,
Unravelling myself in ways now unfamiliar.
I'm held up by wishful thinking, and
together by stomach knots.

I lay,
hoping the light will catch inside my soul,
yet I'm tethered in place. Please
I just want to go home.
